Duvet Care
How to care for your eiderdown duvet
Your eiderdown duvet can last for generations — and here are some tips on how to take care of it.
Use a Clean Cover
Use a clean duvet cover and change it regularly. This will protect your duvet against wear and stains.
Store Properly
If you want to store away your eiderdown duvet, keep it in a cotton bag and store it in a cool and dry place. Do not compress the duvet too much and do not use plastic.
Air Regularly
Every morning, turn your eiderdown duvet around so the warm side is facing up. This helps to release the damp absorbed from your body overnight. In dry weather, your duvet should be aired outside regularly to keep the eiderdown fluffy and light.
Avoid Machine Washing
We generally advise against machine washing of eiderdown duvets as we want the eiderdown to maintain its natural oils. If washing is absolutely necessary, we recommend taking your duvet to a professional cleaning service.
Built to Last
With proper care, an eiderdown duvet can last many decades. Families often pass them down as heirlooms.
